Who We Are

Radiant Hands Inc. is a nonprofit organization originally established in Gainesville, Florida, to serve the North Central Florida region. The organization was founded to fill a critical niche in the community by assisting individuals and families who might otherwise “fall through the cracks” of traditional social service systems.

In June 2014, the administrative office was relocated to Tampa, Florida, allowing Radiant Hands to expand its geographic reach and broaden its services. With this expansion, new programs were introduced, including individual and family counseling, as well as guidance and referrals for job training, financial management, English language learning, and GED preparation.

In August 2015, Radiant Hands Tampa was requested to assist with the resettlement and integration of refugees from Muslim and Arabic-speaking countries. Since then, Radiant Hands has served families who fled conflict and instability in countries such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We are proud to have supported refugees from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, including Christian, Muslim, agnostic, and multi-denominational communities.

In January 2018, Radiant Hands launched a comprehensive Self-Sufficiency Plan built around five core programs designed to empower families to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. These initiatives evolved to support the creation of refugee-led small businesses under the Radiant Hands umbrella, while also helping many individuals establish their own independent enterprises. Through our daily afternoon ESL classes, hundreds of students have successfully strengthened their language skills and navigated education and employment opportunities more smoothly.

Alongside language education, Radiant Hands developed a range of integration and empowerment programs, including financial literacy training, self-care and wellness education, mental health support, and medical assistance, in addition to building numerous community partnerships that expanded access to essential services.

By 2023, with the mentorship and support of Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA), Radiant Hands reached an important milestone by becoming an official refugee resettlement agency under the International Rescue Committee (IRC). This achievement reflects the organization’s growing professionalism, institutional knowledge, and commitment to delivering high-quality services that meet national resettlement standards.
Despite challenges in the broader humanitarian and funding landscape, the continued support of our community has enabled Radiant Hands to sustain and expand its work. During this period, we were able to further support the development of small businesses, strengthen our service delivery, and continue operating a variety of programs that support refugee and immigrant families.

Today, Radiant Hands proudly operates seven branded programs that reflect our holistic approach to service—addressing immediate needs while also promoting long-term stability, integration, and self-sufficiency for the communities we serve.
