Who do we help? Where does the money go?

Below are samples of letters Radiant Hands has received.

  1. My experiences with Radiant Hands have been extremely positive.  Although, I am not Muslin, Radiant Hands has never turned me away due to that fact.  Their  honest concern about my family has surpassed any differences in religion.  Radiant Hands has always been there to help me and my family when I haven't been able to turn to anyone else.  This non-profit organization needs all the sponsorship they could get to continue with their mission towards the community and women.

  2. In 2009 our family had a series of medical and financial crises that we found hard to contend with.  As a result of our medical and financial crises we sought help from local social services.  The first place that we contacted was Radiant Hands.  Radiant Hands responded promptly to our request for financial assistance.  They helped us pay a whopping light bill from GRU and also helped us pay our late car note.  In addition to this, we received kind treatment, a gift card for food and cash for medical expenses that we really would not have been able to pay for without the generosity of Radiant Hands.

Radiant Hands staff was very professional and provided compassionate social services during our time of need.  Most importantly, while receiving help from Radiant Hands, we were treated with dignity and respect during our families' time of need.  The assistance, kindness, professional and compassionate services our family received really meant a lot to us.  Our family looks forward to the day that our financial difficulties improve so that we are able to donate funds to Radiant Hands to help others in the same way that we received help!

  3. Radiant Hands has been a very important part in my life this past year.  In April 2008 I found myself suddenly single after a 16 year marriage failed, expecting my second baby and without a job all while also raising a teenager.  This organization took me under their wing to help not only monetarily but I also received many a note from the members to encourage me when things seemed to be going down hill.  They not only helped during this dire moment of need when deposits, moving and facing a pregnancy alone...but they continued to "watch" over me and keep up with my progress in job hunting, house finding and baby growing.  It is with great gratitude and love that I am forever indebted to this organization for their caring ways and continued support.  I honestly do not know how my little family would have made it without them.

  4. "You need help,” my Angels whispered. After praying to let my request be successful, I sought the email address that had so frequently announced good news of charitable events. My angel reminded me,”you have helped so many when you were able, now it’s your turn to ask.”  With humbled heart restored, I wrote … briefly explaining our situation and made a request for assistance with some of our needs. No sooner had I written her, a response returned. I cried. She provided a telephone number to call her and the rest became a story of humility and kindness. {Radiant Hands representative} was kind and understanding, promising that the group could assist us. As promised, a check arrived within a few days. I was dizzy with relief. I could barely remember all that she said. Thankful and prayerful, we deposited the check. With tears flowing, we paid our mortgage. Thank God for Radiant Hands! I do recall the soft-spoken voice of my gracious benefactor, saying, after I offered to repay the organization. " Don't worry about that. When things get better and you are able, you can send what you can. We do not want to add to your current stresses. Keep us in your prayers.” Once again, the floodgates opened. “Such consideration,” I thought... I am eternally grateful for the giving hands of those women. They were sensitive to my struggle. I pray daily for the women and financial contributors of Radiant Hands. I pray that God brings them the resources to help other women who probably never expect to fall into difficult times. No amount of return could ever repay Radiant Hands, because the organization helped us work on one of our series of financial problems, help with paying our mortgage. I pray that the women of Radiant Hands receive God's greatest blessings for remembering the "least of these.” Thank you again, Radiant Hands for helping us when our way became quite dim.

  5. I am a single disabled mother. I am having a very hard time right now and am in dire need of some help. I have a mentally disabled special needs 1 year old daughter along with another 13 year old. in addition to my own disability. I have experienced many hardships in the last 6 mos.  I lost my position of 2 years at the U of F because of lack of work, this was a OPS position so I am unable to get any unemployment benefits. The range of my electricity bill was from 30-50 dollars now it is 200 dollars a month. I went to the Dept of Children and Families for help only to be told to sign up for SSI or TANF. Which takes a long time I was given an allotment for my two girls for 156.00 a month support from TANF (Temporary assistance for needy families). Although I am not financially able to contribute money there may be some way I can be a blessing to someone else through your organization. I am and will be forever greatful for your blessing.

  6. I was married for 14 years and recently finalized my divorce. I have 3 children ages 5, 10, 13 all of which are from my previous marriage, my ex did not want to pay child support instead he wanted me to give him custody of the children if I needed child support, needless to say I had to retain a lawyer for representation I did want to harm my ex financial, and neither could I afford to really have my rights I paid nearly $5,000.00 in Legal fees, and I agreed to $400.00 in Child Support although I know that his financial information was very misleading. in order to have closure I just agreed and moved on, In the process of going through my Divorce I applied for a higher paying job that would afford to raise my children without any assistance. I was promoted and transferred to Lakeland, Florida in April 2008, my divorce finialized in June 2008.
Shortly have my divorced my transmission went out on me I had only 2 car payments left, I had to make a decision fix the transmission costing over $1500.00 and parts and labor or purchase another car I chose the latter, right after this short fall everything else seemed to trickle down my Electric and rent both were due and I didn't have anywhere to turn I called a friend and she referred me to Radiant Hand.Radiant Hand was very professional, and sensitive to my situation, I asked to provide proof of my residency and my Landlord was paid directly, my friend paid my Electric bill for me and Radiant Hand recovered her lost whereas I didn't have to repay back this debt. I didn't want to return to my Ex for help or resort to means that would cause me more financial burdens and then lead to stress that would eventually affect the happy home environment that try to create for my three children. I live within my means and I try to be very fugal, Radiant Hand relieved a huge burden off of my back and I pray that my testimony will help those who are interested in supporting this type of program will be confident knowing that my situation has improved with the temporary assistance of Radiant Hand.
